A LITTLE ABOUT CARRIE

I am a singer/songwriter and cosmetologist who has discovered one more way to express my inspirations-- designing unique, one-of-a-kind, handbags.

I consider performing, writing, hairdressing, and handcrafting bags a form of art. Each activity allows me to outwardly explore my inner creative thoughts and ideas.

I am a native of Georgetown, Kentucky, however I have lived in Lexington since 1989. I've been singing and writing songs for 27 years. I've been working as a cosmetologist for 15 years.

"Carrie My Bag" is the newest adventure in my life. The inspiration came when my mother-in-law gave me a similar bag for Christmas in 2005. After many comments about the bag from friends, I decided to make my best friend a bag for her birthday. It was a hit!

Since that first bag, I've made many more, all uniquely different from each other. Designing and handcrafting bags has been a wonderful creative outlet for me, one that has been rewarding and makes me smile every time I see someone Carrie My Bag. -- Carrie Johnson
